Oriveti OH700VB Review – Full Range
Pros –
Modular cable, Comfortable with minimal wearing pressure, Nicely balanced sound, Very clean sub-bass boost, Functional tuning switch, Spacious stage
Cons –
Thin mid-bass and midrange, Treble can lack some texture, Visually incoherent design
Verdict –
The OH700VB is a prime instance where we shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, providing a super engaging, thumping sub-bass that has been meticulously tuned not to encroach upon the Harman-inspired midrange and treble.
About Oriveti –
Oriveti is a HiFi brand from Hong Kong founded in 2015. Focusing on the core principles of sound, fit, comfort and reliability, the company seeks to innovate and deliver an impressive experience despite the wealth of competition. They were responsible for producing one of the first hybrid in-ear monitors on the market in the form of the Primacy. Since, Oriveti has spent years developing its latest range of products using many bespoke components. The company hasn’t hugely diversified but has spent time honing its existing range of products over the years.
Introduction –
While the company has been mostly focusing on their dynamic driver earphones, the OH700VB (variable bass) was quietly released alongside the new OD200, their current flagship DD IEM. The OH700VB is the flagship of their hybrid IEM range which has consisted only of the OH300 and OH500 for several years now while the company focused on earphones of other driver types. True to the name, it sports a 7-driver configuration handling the low-end with a single DD, using 4 BAs for the midrange and 2 Bas dedicated to highs. The housings have been hand-crafted using the same process as custom in-ears which has permitted a more complex design and a perfect finish. Oriveti mentions targeting a natural and balanced sound signature with a mini-switch on the faceplate that offers a more engaging sound profile. In addition, the OH700VB sports a precise airhole for airflow control to reduce wearing pressure and optimize the performance of the dynamic driver similar to the tech seen on the OD200.
The OH700VB is available for $699 USD at the time of writing. You can read all about it and treat yourself to a set on Oriveti’s website here!
Disclaimer –
I would like to thank Marco from Oriveti very much for reaching out to organise a review of the new OH700VB. All words are my own and there is no monetary incentive for a positive review. Despite receiving the earphones free of cost, I will attempt to be as objective as possible in my evaluation.

Behind the Design –
Hand Crafted Housings
The OH700VB sports purple acrylic housings with wood faceplates all covered in an immaculate, hand-finished clear coat. The faceplates have a mini switch that enables the user to switch between two sound profiles. Embedded in the top of the housing is a stainless steel vent that balances air pressure for the dynamic driver and also serves to reduce wearing pressure which can enhance the perception of bass frequencies.
Hybrid Driver Setup
Oriveti has opted for a 7-driver setup for their hybrid flagship comprising of a single DD and 6 BAs. The company states that all drivers were selected, designed and screened for the best possible sound and most desirable frequency response. The goal was a natural, balanced sound with excellent clarity, detail and instrument separation.
Unboxing –
The OV700B has an unboxing experience similar to the OD200 which provides a good first impression. Strangely, my unit came with no decorated outer sleeve, only the black card box inside perhaps as it is a pre-production unit. Regardless, the experience is positive. Opening the magnetic lid reveals the earphone housings within an inlet. As with the OD200, a slide-out tray below contains the remaining accessories. There’s a laser-cut foam template holding 3 pairs of silicone ear tips alongside 3 pairs of foam tips. A cleaning tool is included, and we see the return of a modular cable system with the inlet also containing 4.4mm and 2.5mm plugs. Below is the carrying case which sports sporty green stitching and a genuine leather construction. Inside is the cable which is identical also to that seen on the OD200.
Design –
The OH700VB takes the base design of the O800 and reimagines it to reflect the hybrid driver design inside. Specifically, Oriveti has adorned it with contrasting gloss walnut wood faceplates and transparent purple housings that feel reminiscent of the design offered by CIEMs. The shells showcase a flawless gloss finish with an imperceptible join between the faceplate and housings. The bronze nozzle shares the same meticulous tolerances as do the newly added stainless-steel vents on the rears of the housing. Mini switches responsible for the adjustable bass boost can be found on the base of the faceplates. Finally, 2-pin connectors adorn the tops of each earpiece enabling easy cable swapping and upgrades.

The factory cable is identical to that included on the OD200 which is a very good thing, impressing in all aspects. It’s an 8-wire braided cable with excellent flexibility and zero memory, coiling easily for storage and minimizing microphonic noise transmission. The pre-moulded ear guides are comfortable and stable. It also sports a modular plug with the option of 3.5mm single-ended, 2.5mm and 4.4mm balanced. My only caveat is that the colour is still grey and green. Personally, I find the green a bit out of place here as there is a clash of colours with the purple, wood, grey and green making for an eclectic aesthetic.
Fit & Isolation –
The OH700VB fits similarly to the O800 given that the housings offer an almost identical shape. They have a medium size but are on the wider side and do protrude noticeably from the ears as a result. Despite this, the fit is comfortable due to the well-considered sculpting of the shells and rounded edges. This minimizes hotspot formation and aids fit stability. I found the OH700VB offered a notably more locked-in fit than the OH500 due to its more sculpted shell design and slightly longer nozzle.

The seal is easy and consistent but due to the dimensions won’t suit those with especially small ears. One thing to note is that the OH700VB has minimal wearing pressure due to the vented housings. This makes them less fatiguing to wear for long stretches and aids general wearing comfort. In terms of isolation, they offer above-average noise isolation despite the vented design. I found them a great complement for daily use and public transport due to this and their bassy tuning with variable bass boost.
