The Fathom appeals to those wanting an upgrade over the previous Andromeda variants and successfully fills the gap created by the more radically changed Emerald Sea as Campfire Audio’s premium all-rounder.
The loss of separation and balance do mire an otherwise impressive and capable platform meaning the Emerald Sea appeals more to bass lovers also wanting superb resolving power rather than fans of the original models.
The Andromeda 2020 isn’t just a homage, but an entire overhaul that addresses the original’s weaknesses whilst compounding upon the its core charm.
The Aether R will appeal most to those wanting great musical enjoyment and technical performance without sacrificing overall balance or long-term listen-ability.
